JENNY CALLAO MCCOLL, LCPC

You’ve got this!

We each have a unique story. We can't rewrite the past chapters, and there are many things over which we have no control. However, we can take the first step to take control over the choices we do have.  We can start taking an active role in writing our stories and understand that our past does not have to determine how our lives turn out.  The same thoughts and behaviors may feel safe, because they are comfortable and familiar, though not necessarily healthy.  In therapy, we can work toward reframing thoughts and behaviors and take positive steps toward gaining insight into what feels true.  This insight allows us the peace and courage to start living our lives in the most authentic way.

ABOUT THERAPY

COVID - 19 INFORMATION:  I have been providing therapy via video telehealth since March 2020.  I am now happy to welcome fully-vaccinated clients to attend their sessions in-person at my new location.

The option to participate in treatment via telehealth continues to be available for unvaccinated clients, those with accessibility issues, and anyone who is needing additional time to transition to in-person care.

I have a general psychotherapy practice and I work primarily with individual adults.  My approach to therapy is client-centered and solution-focused. I assist clients with identifying and accessing their strengths, and to obtain the tools to help manage life's challenges.
The counselor-client relationship is key in allowing clients to feel safe enough to start taking some risks, to discover new things about themselves, or to re-discover things they may have lost along the way.  I strive to provide a safe, affirming, non-judgmental space to collaborate with clients.  I assist clients with managing depression and anxiety, coping with stress, dealing with life transitions, building self-esteem, surviving grief and loss, helping to define or redefine life's purpose, and building communication and relationship skills.
